AMERICAN OPTOMETRIC SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP ELECTS DON SIPOLA, O.D., F.A.A.O., TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

American Optometric Society Membership Elects Don Sipola, O.D., F.A.A.O. to its Board of Directors

Agoura Hills, CA, September 1, 2011 – The American Optometric Society (AOS) announced today that, following a close election among three highly qualified candidates, Don Sipola, O.D., F.A.A.O., of Virginia, MN, has been elected to fill a vacant seat on the AOS Board of Directors. Adhering to the AOS’ pledge to allow all members to participate in their national organization and, in particular, to ensure accountability through the direct election of the AOS Board of Directors, Dr. Sipola now joins the governing board of optometry's newest national organization. “I am both surprised and honored to be elected by the AOS membership to the AOS Board, and I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to this important organization,” said Dr. Sipola upon learning of his election.
