Speaker Biography: Mr. Robert Rebello
Robert Rebello is the founder and President of Nteon Software LLC. Working with Optometrists and Ophthalmologists throughout the country, he has designed and developed numerous ophthalmic systems. He was the original designer and developer of several systems including a patient reporting system, a co-management reporting system and an Electronic Medical Records system.
Robert Rebello has been involved in Medical Records for over 25 years. His Medical Records involvement began as a senior consultant to hospitals across the country. In this experience he works with hospitals, their doctors and their billing staff to improve their Medical Record keeping and Medical Coding procedures.
He has also been involved in Medical Records and Coding and Reimbursement for both Optometry and Ophthalmology for over 20 years. As a result of this experience he designed a Medical Records system specifically for Optometrists and Ophthalmologists. Because of his experience, this system has the most common tests, diagnoses, procedures and examination processes built in to the system.
Robert Rebello has been providing consulting to Optometrists and Ophthalmologists for proper Medical Coding and Reimbursement in their practice for over ten years. He also keeps up with both National and Regional coding requirements. This provides him with the ability to provide information specific to the region where the doctor practices. This is critical information for the practice as which procedures will be reimbursed for a diagnosis, vary significantly from one region to another.
As a result of this extensive experience in Medical Coding and Reimbursement, he developed a seminar specifically for Optometrists. He has been providing these seminars for private practices, study groups and local Optometric associations for over 10 years. At the request of several state Optometric associations, in 2006 he applied for COPE approval for his seminar. In April 2006 he was approved by COPE for a two hour seminar Coding and Medical Billing (16093-PM). Since approval, he has given these COPE approved lectures in conjunction with many state associations across the country.
These seminars show Optometrists and their staff how to code and bill properly. He details the steps necessary to select and code the proper exam as well as the importance of coding additional Procedures linked to the Diagnosis. Several aspects of this course set it apart from other coding seminars:
He strongly encourages questions and feedback from the attendees during the seminar. This provides the practices with fewer denied claims and increased reimbursement. The seminars also show Optometrists why they need to and, more importantly, how to migrate into a Medical Practice.
Because of his extensive background in Ophthalmic Medical Records and Coding, doctors around the country requested that he develop a process that would easily show them how to code and bill properly especially for Medical Issues. The result was the EyeCOR suite.
