Please meet Dr. Kevin Brown. Kevin shares that he married his wife Cindy (Dr. Johnson or Dr. Cindy)    just out   of UHCO and opened cold in Vermillion in 1983. Vermillion is a small town of about 5,000 with the University of South Dakota (www.usdcoyotes.com) adding another 5,000 to 10,000 total. He grew up in Auburn, NE and is still a Husker season ticket holder. Cindy is from Hurley, SD (pop. 365 on a good day). Kevin and Cindy have a 16 year old daughter, Ellen, who is a high school junior and a 13 year old son, Jack, who is in the 7^th grade. Cindy practices full-time and Kevin practices part-time as he has financial/real estate interests outside optometry (distressed properties, mostly multi-unit apartment complexes). They have both been AOA and SDOS (South Dakota Optometric Society) members since they started optometry, no gaps, but have not sought state, regional or national offices.
